Unlike a biligual school, The Garden offers a 100% English Environment. All activities take place exclusively in English, supervised by native English speaking teachers. In addition learning is fun and always a postivie experience at the Garden Academy.

Children can learn English at any age but the optimal ages are between 2 and 6 years old while ears, mouths and palates are being formed. Learning happens especially quickly in an immersive environment.

The school is closed during the official school vacations. During this period, we offer weekly vacation camps during the fall, winter, spring and summer breaks. A preferential rate is also offered if you are already a client of The Garden Academy.

Your child does not speak a word of English: it is time to start discovering the Englsh language through immersion. Little by little, they will begin to understand and identify sounds, words and then sentences. They will begin singing nursery rhymes and use everyday words. Before speaking, they must begin to understand the language first, speech will follow naturally.

Becoming bilingual requires several years of practice and immersion. Starting as early as possible is essential. The most suitable age to start is between the ages of 2 and 6 years old. Language is anchored gradually and deeply, thus a practice as frequent as possible is essential.

The Garden offers English language after school activities every weekday afternoon, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Your child will be able to practice and continue to improve at a regular and progressive pace. We also offer full day advanced courses during the school holidays.

After sending your request, we organize an appointment with you to get to know each other and determine your wishes and expectations for your child. If your expectations correspond to our school program and philosophy, then we will ask for documents to create a complete file for our admissions team.

Yes, depending on the age of the child. For the little one, it is often the first separation thus implement a small adaptation period in order to discover their new environment and get comforable with their teachers. This adaptation period takes place over 3 – 5 days depending on the age and profile of each child.

Yes, the meals are included in our offer, including the morning and afternoon snack, nappies and other necessities. Meals and snacks are organic and we attach particular importance to the selection of our supplies and materials used during our various workshops.

Yes, we provide the organic snacks (cookies, fresh fruit). These refreshments are included in the quoted price.

What does a typical day during a holiday camp look like?2021-12-21T19:10:15+01:00

We welcome the children from 9 to 9h30 at the beginning of the day with a circle time before we start the workshops. Two immersive workshops interspersed with a healthy snack and a trip to the park when the weather allows it. Then the children have lunch and we invite them to a quiet time (reading, games). The afternoons are also punctuated by two to three workshops depending on the topics and with a snack.

A typical preschool day starts with drop offs happening between 8h30 and 9h. Children are welcomed into class where they are encouraged to autonomously prepare themselves for the day by putting on slippers and washing their hands. Children have circle time every morning where they are introduced to a wide variety of new vocabulary, music, and activities based on developmental needs and interests. Our learning themes and objectives change every 1-2 weeks. Within each theme there are different workshops each day ranging from phonics, sensory, math and counting, arts and crafts, motor skills, and music and movement. We also have montessori workshops each afternoon that are applied based on the child’s developmental abilities. All of our programs are given through a positive, play based learning environment. Snacks are given every day along with our catered lunch program. Full day students also have a nap time that is taken each day after lunch. Half day students stay until 11h30, with full day students finishing their day at 16h.

Will introducing English to a child at such a young age slow down the acquisition of their mother tongue?2021-12-21T19:09:02+01:00

Absolutely not! Children are resourceful and are able to adapt to new environments at incredible speed. Second language acquisition will happen naturally with any given method. Neural paths are built and put into place which are reinforced by positive learning experiences while learning any new language.
